Episode 1: A look back at Season 1

Welcome to Woolheads, a new podcast from the voices that bring you Geek@Arms! James and I have been big fans of The Wheel of Time novels for decades, and we were beyond excited about the Amazon TV show. While we do have some Coplin Talk to share, there’s an awful lot we do like, too, and we want to share our appreciation of the show with you.

In this episode, we look back at Season 1 and discuss the production, how we feel about Changes in the Pattern with regard to characters and storyline, and do some Theorycrafting to predict how the show will develop as a result of those differences. Will Season 2 continue to please us as much as Season 1 did? The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills!

Correction: Listener Patrick Landers corrects us on a couple of points. He did so on Twitter with its character limit, so I’ll paraphrase rather than quote him: In the novel The Eye of the World Rand, Matt and Perrin were nineteen years old; I’d asserted they were younger. And he points out that Matt was susceptible to betrayal and disloyalty, as evidenced by his reaction to traveling through the portal stone to Toman Head in chapter 37 of The Great Hunt. Thanks for listening, Patrick! —Bryan
